NANOTURBO.WAD is a Knee-Deep in The Dead replacement for Doom 1. It features 8 new levels plus a secret level. This WAD was created during the month of october 2025 as an entry to the NaNoWadMO 2025 community project hosted by @scwiba (you shoud definitely check the other maps people created!). NANOTURBO started as a collection of speedmaps created between 2 and 4 hours each; from E1M1 to E1M6 all maps were created that way. Starting from E1M7 I choose a more classic level design flow, making small incremental changes going back and forth the remaining slots. The maps are somewhat small and feature easy/medium gameplay with lots of run-and-gun; difficulty settings are implemented for UV and HMP, as well as co-op starts (but no custom monsters/itens for co-op). Deathmatch is not implemented (perhaps in the future only for E1M4, that layout turned out really cool to deathmatch I think). This project allowed me to train my mapmaking skills, as well as learn other aspects of modding, such as DeHacked and custom graphics.
